From 3:00 PM ET until 4:30 PM ET
In celebration of Black History Month (February), NextTech will organize a Wikipedia edit-a-thon to highlight Black nanoscientists by creating new Wikipedia pages or expanding already existing Wikipedia pages (inspired by Jess Wade's initiative for female scientists). To learn more about how to write a Wikipedia page, the group will welcome Ariel Cetrone, Institutional Partnerships Manager at Wikimedia DC and John Sadowski, Technical Analyst at NIOSH and the NIOSH Wikipedian-in-Residence, to our next February meeting. In lieu of our standard meeting, Ms. Cetrone and Dr. Sadowski will train the group on how to write a successful Wikipedia page. We will write a few Wikipedia pages together, and then participants will work on their own. We will discuss progress at our March meeting. This will be a great opportunity to develop a new skill and learn about some amazing nanoscientists. Do not miss out!
